Eastern Inter Counties XC – Essex Selection

We have decided this year to send Essex XC Teams to the Eastern Counties XC Champs, to be held on the 19th November 2022 at Southill Park in Biggleswade. This is for:

• U20 Men, U20 Women, Senior Men & Senior Women only.
• 4 to run in each team (with 3 to score).

Selections for this race will take place from the 1st Essex League at Thurrock on the 15th October 2022 (entries must close by the 28th Oct 2022).

Allison Gillan will be acting as Essex Team XC Manager for this fixture, as both Phil Oatham and Paul Bailey are not available. If this event is successful we hope it may become a regular feature to the XC calendar.

The Essex XC Champs will take place on Saturday 7^th Jan at Gloucester Park, Basildon.  This is for all age groups.

Entries are now open and will be online via Active Training World.

Entries close on Sunday 18^th December

Team scores are 4 to count in each age group except senior men which is 6 to score.

The Essex XC Relays will be held on Saturday 24th September at Weald Park, Brentwood.

This year we will be using an online entry system instead of the old paper based one. This will mean a couple of changes - Team managers can still enter all the teams but athletes information will need to be submitted at the point of entry and not on the day. There are instructions as to how to complete the entry so please read through them before starting.

We will also be using chiptiming, which will be part of the race number and not a chip on the shoes.

We hope with the introduction of both online entry and chiptiming we will be able to offer a much quicker results service and award medals soon after each race.

Entries for the Essex Vets XC Champs are now open.

The champs are on Saturday 3^rd December at Writtle University, Chelmsford, CM1 3RR.

Entries will be online only via Active Training World and entries close on Friday 25^th November.

Medals will be awarded in 5 year age groups up to V70 and teams are in 10 year age groups up to V60 (4 to score in a team)

Please note this is Vets only.  The champs races for U13 and U15s will be on the main championship day on Saturday 7^th January 2023.

The XC champs will take place on Saturday 8^th January 2022 and will be hosted by Basildon AC.  The venue is:

The timetable for races is as follows:

10am – U17men and U17 women (5k) – 4 to score in a team

10:30am – U20men and U20 women (8k) – 4 to score in a team

11:15am – Senior women (8k) – 4 to score in a team

12:15pm – Senior men (10k) – 6 to score in a team

All athletes must be Essex qualified and UKA registered to be eligible for scoring in the team results or winning a county medal.
