Details of the Essex XC championships for 2024 below.

Essex XC Championships - Saturday 6th January 2024 at Gloucester Park, Basildon.

Entries for the XC Champs will be open from 25th November and will be via the ATW website.

The champs this year will take a different format to previous years. Firstly the courses will be multi lap and will be similar to the recent Essex League event - for example the senior men's race will be 3 laps of 4k.
The aim of using a multi lap course is to make each race more spectator friendly. To this end we are taking some of the aspects from the very successful Night of the 10,000, and there will be 45m marquee for athletes to run through where spectators can get close to the action and encourage the runners.

Marky T from Radio Essex will also be on hand to be our announcer and to provide some musical entertainment.

Stallholders are also be invited providing tea/coffee and food. So hopefully there will be plenty for spectators.

The timetable for the races is as follows:
Race 1 @ 10:00am - U13G (3.1k)
Race 2 @ 10:20am - U13B (3.1k)
Race 3 @ 10:40am - U15G (4.3k)
Race 4 @ 11:00am - U15B (4.3k)
Race 5 @ 11:20am - U17W (5.2k)
Race 6 @ 11:50am - Senior Women & U20M (8k)
Race 7 @ 12:45pm - U17M & U20W (6.1k)
Race 8 @ 1:15pm - Senior Men (12k)

Course maps will be sent to club secretaries and team managers
